Lama Je Tsongkhapa Master Brocaded Thangka 125cm x 92cm

A beautiful irreplaceable Thangka of Lama Je Tsongkhapa. Chundi painted this Thangka in the 1970´s and was one of the first of the Tamangs to sell his Thangkas in Kathmandu at this time. He hasnt painted Thangkas now for a long time as he is now an old man so Thangkas by him truly are irreplaceable. Even the style of the way it was painted is different of those painted today. Also in the painting can be found Chenrezig, Vairochana and Manjushri at the top and below Je Tsongkhapa are his disciples Khedrup Je and and Gyaltsab Je.

Please note the series of Chundi Thangkas we have are not new and date back to the 1970/80s. These aren’t what you would refer to as Antique but the do have signs of age though the paintings are still in very good condition. These have been hung in different places and temples in Nepal along the way and the brocades show some sign of age though this gives the Thangka some character

Brocade Materials – Varanasi silk Khadi, Red with Gold and red border

Caps – Brass
