Nepal Earthquake April 25th 2015 - 29/4/2015

Nepal Earthquake April 25th 2015

At 11.55am on Saturday 25th April 2015, Nepal was hit by a 7.9 magnitude, devastating earthquake. The epicenter was in the Gorkha region between Pokhara and Kathmandu but the earthquake, and the consequent aftershocks, had devastating effect right across the country. Many thousands are dead and many more are injured. The earthquake has devastated buildings all over Nepal and has demolished many of Nepals historical treasures.

At Pink Lotus, along with our sister travel company Sacred Himalaya, and our charity DCWC Nepal have been heavily affected by the disaster. We are fortunate to know many of our dearest friends and family are safe however many still remain unaccounted for. Many of those accounted for have buildings badly damaged or damaged beyond repair. We still wait to hear about the fate of the family of our adopted Nepali daughter Manju. The Hospital built by our charity in Kavre, we believe has survived the earthquake. We have had no news of the 15 schools we built

We are devastated for those who have lost their lives and for those injured or left homeless.

We hope and pray the news gets better not worse.
